I believe the future of medicine is in empowering people with the exact information and tools they need to manage their own health. My nearly three decades of experience working in clinical care, scientific research and worksite wellness has collectively shown me the dramatic impact lifestyle as medicine can have on our lives.
My journey into using lifestyle as medicine began after I discovered a large gap in our healthcare system. My patients needed guidance in-between office visits because they lacked the precise lifestyle-based knowledge and skills to manage their own health.
In my quest to help my patients improve their health, I started conducting clinical trials in healthy aging, wellness, and lifestyle medicine. In my research, my focus is exploring the different factors that influence our wellbeing and longevity, including novel biological markers and lifestyle habits.
My journey into using lifestyle as medicine began after I discovered a large gap in our healthcare system. My patients needed guidance in-between office visits because they lacked the precise lifestyle-based knowledge and skills to manage their own health.
In my quest to help my patients improve their health, I took on an adjunct role as the assistant director of research at Emory’s Paul W. Seavey Clinic, where I conducted clinical trials in healthy aging, wellness, and lifestyle medicine. In my research, I started to look at the different factors that influence our wellbeing and longevity, including novel biological markers and lifestyle habits.
Inspired by my own and other groundbreaking research, I founded Emory Lifestyle Medicine & Wellness to integrate prevention and disease management tools that were not being offered in the traditional healthcare system. I also utilized my knowledge and research to design award-winning evidence-based wellness programs. I have made it my mission to share the lifestyle habits and behaviors that ultimately will have the biggest impact in improving your health.
What began as a smaller mission to improve my patients’ health has since evolved into a larger movement to bring the latest science, tools, and information to a global audience.
Together, I want to shift our culture toward health and offer the exact steps you need to personalize your path to wellness with the precision of science-based information. I believe that you can live a more vibrant life.
